Alira, Sauvignon Blanc, 2016, dry, ABV 12.8%
Alira Sauvignon Blanc stands out as being one of the greatest surprises which the producer from Dobrogea usually does annually. Renowned in the local market for making full-bodied and complex red wines from over-ripened grapes, this time Alira decided to create a very expressive white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc, with a light and fresh body. A wine that starts with a light lemon color and has typical aromas of gooseberries, elder flowers, and freshly cut grass. The body of the wine is well-balanced between aromas, alcohol, acidity, minerality, and aftertaste. In which the aromas of lime juice and pineapple prevail, along with the final notes of lemon peel and cantaloupe in the aftertaste.
Serving temperature: 6-8°C (43-46°F).
Food pairing: summer salads, unripened cheese like ricotta or mozzarella, fish or chicken dishes, or with any food you like.
