Alira Eleganza is the first wine ever produced in Romania based on the recioto style, which consists in producing sweet wines from late-harvested grapes, and then dried under special conditions. A winemaking style that was borrowed from Veneto, Italy, where traditional grape varieties like Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella are used. However, in Romania, the traditional Alira red grapes like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Fetească Neagră are used. When poured into a glass, the wine opens up with a ruby color with purple hues and a nose rich in aromas such as cloves, cocoa, and caramel. On the palate, the wine has a medium body and a very long aftertaste, with delicate final notes of chocolate and sour cherry liquor.
