The release of a wine like Negru de Drăgăşani made from grapes grown in Dealu Mare DOC was at first and a very pleasant surprise for everyone. Marquis Piero Antinori’s inspiration and intuition proved once more auspicious when it comes to introducing new grape varieties in Dealu Mare. In the glass, the wine delights with a deep purple color and with a nose in which blackberries and candied figs notes are present. Being matured in barriques for 8 months, the wine achieved maturity and a good tannic structure, with aromas of chocolate and vanilla. The wine has a medium aftertaste, with persistent final notes of cherries and caramel. It is recommended to decant the wine for at least half an hour before consumption.
